Simplistic yet attractive characters set against highly detailed backdrops with clean shading and lots of speed lines.

It originally ran from February 1991 to June 1997 with a sequel series titled Gunsmith Cats BURST closing the story out between September 2004 and October 2008. Of note to fans of the manga Bean Bandit does not show up in this series a good thing in my personal opinion. NTSC seems at first glance to have the edge over the NTSC-PAL anime transfers we normally get in the UK but a few minutes with the flicker the jaggies and the over-saturated colours have me thinking that the slightly smoother animation just isnt enough.
Video Gunsmith Cats gets a 43 regular transfer although it is an NTSC disc. January 26 2015 at 1644 a year ago I caught the 3-episode Gunsmith Cats OVA see my reviews of episode 1. Gunsmith Cats is one of the best action manga you can find on the North American market as well as one of my personal favorites. This 1995 OVA rather then start adapting the manga from page 1 or choosing the very best of Sonodas stories decided to create an anime original plot. There is also a five-volume sequel series Gunsmith Cats Burst.
Gunsmith Cats epitomized what in the 1980s and early 90s was the stereotypical US description of the manga style. Gunsmith Cats the OAV is based on Sonoda Kenichis manga series but is even better. Gunsmith Cats is about the exploits of the owner of a Gun shop in Chicago.
In the dangerous suburbs of Chicago skilled bounty hunters Irene Rally Vincent and Minnie May Hopkins run Gunsmith Cats a firearms store of questionable legality. It was printed on quality paper and for most part was a very well received series. One day Bill Collins an agent for the Chicago branch of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives blackmails Rally.
